Steel Cabinet Maintenance Cycle And Maintenance Guide
May 13, 2025
Steel cabinets are widely used in industrial, commercial and home scenarios due to their durability and practicality. However, long-term use without regular maintenance may cause the cabinet to rust, deform or damage its function. A reasonable maintenance cycle can not only extend the service life, but also maintain its appearance and performance. The following is a professional suggestion on the maintenance cycle of steel cabinets.
Daily cleaning and inspection (once a week)
It is recommended to clean the steel cabinet briefly every week. Use a slightly damp soft cloth to wipe the surface to remove dust and stains to avoid accumulation and corrosion. At the same time, check whether the cabinet door hinges, locks and drawer slides are loose. Tightening the screws in time can prevent structural deformation. If the environment is dusty or humid, the cleaning frequency can be appropriately increased.
Deep maintenance (once every quarter)
Deep maintenance is required every three months. First, thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the cabinet, especially the areas where dust is easily accumulated at the joints. Then apply anti-rust oil or special metal protective agent, focusing on covering the corners and welding parts to form a protective layer to isolate humid air. For cabinets that are frequently used, maintenance can be shortened to once every two months.
Environmental adaptability maintenance (once a year)
When steel cabinets are in extreme environments (such as high humidity, high temperature or chemical corrosion sites) for a long time, their condition needs to be evaluated annually. Check whether the surface coating is peeling off and re-spray the anti-rust paint if necessary. If the cabinet is used outdoors, it is recommended to add sealing strips or moisture-proof pads and regularly check whether the drainage holes are unobstructed.
Special situation handling
If local rust is found, the rust should be immediately polished with sandpaper, and anti-rust primer should be applied before covering the topcoat. Avoid using acidic or corrosive cleaners to avoid damaging the surface.
Following the above maintenance cycle can significantly improve the durability of steel cabinets. Regular maintenance not only saves replacement costs, but also ensures that it is always in the best condition.
